Cambridge University Buddhist Society is organizing a Mindfulness Workshop this Sunday (21st February). It take place from 9 am to 5 pm in the Knights Room of Westcott House, Jesus Lane, Cambridge CB5 8BP.
This workshop will be an opportunity to learn mindfulness from an experienced teacher, Ven. Kamburawala Rewatha Thero from the Scotland’s Buddhist Vuhara. He has been teaching in the UK since 2002, and also acts as a Chaplain in the Glasgow University.
The event is free and open to all.
The program of the day is:
09:15 Introductions and a brief orientation to mindfulness and
format of the session
09:30 Raisin exercise followed by discussion and mindfulness information
10:15 Short body scan meditation followed by discussion
11:00 Lunch (Please feel free to bring a food item to share.
Alternatively, you can buy your own from the city)
12:30 Mindful movement (walking meditation) followed by discussion
13:30 Short sitting practice followed by discussion
14:15 Discussion on general mindfulness practice
(plus 3 minute breathing space) and final comments
15:00 Evaluations and end of the workshop
16:00 Talk on “Mindfulness in Everyday Life”
