I hope you are back to your busy work schedule after the festive time.
My personal retreat and mindfulness training sessions in Malaysia and Singapore were a great success.
Now we have a new resident monk who arrived at Scotland’s Buddhist Vihara on 12th of January from Colombo.
I am delighted to welcome him to Glasgow and to introduce him to all our devotees and friends.
Venerable Kotte Visuddhi Thero is from Kolonnawa Raja Maha Viharaya, Colombo.
The history of this Vihara goes back to 1870 . Bhante Visuddhi’s mentor is the most Venerable Kolonnawe Dhammika Thero.
I met Venerable Visuddhi Thero many years ago at Valukaramaya, Colombo 3 when he was looking after my preceptor and mentor, the most Veneble Bellana Gnanavimala Maha Nayaka Thero, the chief prelate of Kotte Kalyani Samgree Dharma Maha Sangha Sabha. I witnessed his kindness and compassion when he was looking after the Maha Nayaka Thera. He looked after my teacher for almost nine years until he passed away last year at the age of 96.
Now he is here in Glasgow to help us to continue our Dhamma work in Scotland and beyond. Venerable Visuddhi Thero will be a great asset to our Vihara and will assist me in delivering all our Dhamma Work.
Please find below the programme for the month of February. I hope you will be able to attend some of these events this month although you have busy work and family commitments. We will update you every month regarding our events at the Vihara.
May I take this opportunity to wish you and your family a very Happy New Year.
I highly appreciate with blessings all your support during the last year for our Dhammduta work including Dana Meals and generous financial contributions.
Sukhi Hotu !
